Long fascinated by the art of the Danish painter Carl Bloch (1834-1890), one day I sketched Christ’s head from his painting Christ and Child, show below. Only 4 inches square, I was surprised at how well the drawing was received. Responding to numerous requests, I enlarged it and made prints available. It has since been shown in shows and galleries, always with credit to the original artist, whose work is now in the public domain.
