One nation divided by love and hate. Formerly united, one side renounced the status quo. The other side resisted, slaughtering their unarmed brothers and sisters.
Is there a parallel here to our times?
Whatever your stand on today’s issues, hate cannot be our guiding principle. Nor can fear, which cripples intellect and reason and feeds hate. Every one of us has much to do to heal divisions in our hearts, homes and communities. To the degree that we bury communication and love, to that degree hate, fear and chaos win.
How do you define status quo?
A good first step: Turn off the news. The media’s job is to fan hate and fear. That is how they make money and spread their version of the truth. Watch only to catch up, then turn it off.
