This painting shows Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus encountering Simeon, the aged priest who had prayed to see The Messiah. The story is told in Luke chapter 2:
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation
This painting premiered at a presentation I gave in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2019.
