One day in ancient America, a man named Enos went into the woods to hunt. As he did so, the words his father taught him concerning eternal life and the joy of the saints sank deep into his heart. His soul hungered. He fell to his knees, wrestling within himself for forgiveness and praying for his soul. His struggles stretched throughout the day and continued into the night, until at last a voice came unto him, saying: “Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee.” From the Book of Mormon, Enos 1:1-6.
