From Acts chapter 3, this painting depicts Peter and John kneeling to help a man to his feet whom they had just healed. He had been lame from birth. The young man’s eyes are focused on the source of his alms, just beginning to realize the real gift he has been given.
The models for this include a power spiritual leader I have admired for many years, a young man with several life-long challenges, and the father who adopted him as a two-year-old, kneeling to help him to his feet.
