The painting, “Christ Healing the Daughter of Jairus“, is on my website.
The painting, completed in 2011, is oil on canvas, and measures 24×36″. It illustrates the story of Jairus, who pleaded with Christ to heal his 12-year-old daughter who was near death. Christ did, even after she had died, taking her by the hand and saying, “Maid, arise.” From Mark 5:22-43.
The message is in the girl’s eyes. She knows the source of her healing.
The painting has won a Certificate of Merit at the Society of Illustrators-Los Angeles “Illustration West 50” show, held at Gallery Nucleus, Los Angeles in March 2012. It was also featured at the Tenth Annual Annual Shenandoah Art Gala in October 2013.
