Oil on Gessobord
This painting depicts two disciples in Emmaus discovering that the resurrected Savior has been with them for hours. From Luke 24:13-32. Although they did not recognize Him at first, these disciples — not apostles — must have been powerful and faithful followers and great gospel scholars to have received this miracle.
The idea for this painting occurred when I came across an old photo I had taken, got an idea, asked a couple of very willing young men to pose, composited the results in the computer, and painted it.
From this idea, I also created the painting “Offering“.
