Open House Invitation

2013, Adobe Illustrator

Renovations to the chapel of the Kent Island Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were completed in August of 2013. I was asked to create and donate an invitation to the celebratory open house which members of the church were to take around to the local community. The open house was very well attended by members, non-members, and political and business leaders.

Day to Serve Doorhanger

2013, Adobe Illustrator

For the 2013 Day to Serve, sponsored by the governors of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, and the Mayor of Washington, D.C., The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Annapolis Stake asked me to create and donate a doorhanger for their part of the effort, which was to hold a food drive. The doorhanger details what food was to be collected and when. Volunteers were to distribute doorhangers and empty bags in their neighborhoods and then return to pick up the food and deliver it to the local food bank.

In 2012, 600,000 pounds of food was collected. The goal for 2013, as spelled out in the infographic, is to double the results.

Day to Serve 2013 Infographic

2013, Adobe Illustrator

For the 2013 Day to Serve, sponsored by the governors of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, and the Mayor of Washington, D.C., I was asked to create and donate an infographic detailing the basics of part of the program.

From the Day to Serve website:

“Day to Serve began in 2012 as a collaboration between the governors of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the mayor of the District of Columbia. The event unites people of all faiths, races, cultures and backgrounds with the shared goal of helping those in need and improving communities where we live through service projects.

“During the inaugural Day to Serve, 14,000 volunteers carried out 750 community service projects. They collected and donated more than 600,000 pounds of food and planted hundreds of trees.”

The goal for 2013 is to double the effort.
